"And you didn't feel that that night with anyone," Auggie assumes, understanding, his tone a little more serious so she knew he honestly wasn't making fun of her. He didn't exactly believe he had to wait for the spark to have a good time with someone, but he knows what it's like to click with someone like that. Still, there's a moment where he feels an odd twist of disappointment following what she said, one that he isn't expecting at all (because what does he have to be disappointed about?). He doesn't think much about it beyond the initial realization it's there, shrugging it off before it can really even form. He offers her a slight grin once he does, adding, "Well, look on the bright side. That was what, less than ten people? On an island with hundreds and growing."
